Back then, in 1824, life expectancy for Clergy men wasn’t great. They spent their time visiting the sick and praying for their good health. Doctors too were surrounded by people with incurable diseases.

We knew they needed our help. So, we did something that no-one else did. We offered assurance exclusively to clergymen and doctors. We assured people who had certain ailments or diseases that other assurance companies used as a reason not to insure them.

Today, Clerical Medical is one of the leading pensions and investment companies, with a wide range of products. Whilst we’ve kept the name, our customers have broadened to all types of professions and people from all walks of life. In many ways we’ve kept the same idea as way back in 1824.
