| Five questions to ask a financial adviser |
| |
- Check the return on the investment and the length of time you have to invest it for
- Ask to see the key features document for each of the different products that are recommended to you (this summarises the key features of the product). It’s a useful document to have. By law, all financial service companies have to produce these documents.
- Ask to see their commission fees/charges
- Ask them what type of adviser they are: whether they are a single or multi-tied adviser or an independent financial adviser.
- Don’t be afraid to ask for more time to consider all the options in more detail. The adviser will be more than happy to arrange a follow up meeting.
