Clerical Medical Fund Range Passes First Year Performance
Clerical Medical Investment Solutions (CMIS), the investment proposition now part
of the Scottish Widows intermediary product range, is marking its first year anniversary.
There are three parts to CMIS: the fund range, a new investment committee and an
award winning modelling tool, Portfolio Architect.
The range of 37 funds is split into three risk categories: Foundation, Escalator
and Accelerator. This is a simple method to identify the risk/reward characteristics
of each fund. Eight out of 12 Accelerator funds* have consistently performed above
their benchmark in their first year. The UK Focus, US Strategic, Japan Focus and
European Focus funds have all gained first quartile one year performance.
The new proposition has delivered on its promise to provide transparent robust reporting
directly to IFAs.
All funds are available from Scottish Widows as mutual funds and ISAs either directly
or from Cofunds and FundsNetwork. The funds are also available through Scottish
Widows onshore and offshore investment bonds and the Scottish Widows Retirement
Account.
John Van Der Wielen, Managing Director at Clerical Medical said:
"Our funds have performed well and have proven their resilience through an exciting
first year. In particular, the UK Focus, US Strategic, Japan Focus and European
Focus funds all gained first quartile one year performance. IFAs that have chosen
our new proposition value the efficiency it's brought to their business by assisting
their fund selection process and with keeping their clients informed."
